Custom Dataset Terms — the following Custom Dataset Terms have been defined for this dataset.
There are 6 restricted files in this dataset.
LARIAC data are licensed to UCLA faculty, researchers and students only. 1. Overview UCLA Dataverse, in collaboration with the Los Angeles Regional Imagery Acquisition Consortium (LARIAC), grants **Authorized Users** access to certain licensed digital mapping data provided by **Pictometry International Corp.** (the “Licensed Products”). These Licensed Products are governed by an agreement between Pictometry and the **County of Los Angeles** (the "County"), allowing specific governmental and research entities access to this data. 2. Authorized Users and Access Under the terms of the agreement, **Authorized Users** include UCLA departments, contractors, consultants, and research personnel using the Licensed Products either at the facilities of an **Authorized Entity** or for a designated project (the "Project") related to UCLA. Access to the Licensed Products is provided solely for **internal, non-commercial research purposes**, and must adhere to all data use policies set forth by the County and Pictometry. 3. Confidential Information The Licensed Products contain confidential and proprietary information, including trade secrets (“Confidential Information”). Authorized Users must: - Use the Licensed Products only for the intended Project purposes, which are non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-assignable. - Ensure that any Confidential Information revealed through the use of the Licensed Products is not shared, disseminated, or otherwise disclosed to third parties without prior written consent from UCLA or the County, which may need to secure additional approval from Pictometry. 4. Termination of Access Access to the Licensed Products is granted for the duration of the Authorized User’s engagement with the relevant Project. Once the Project concludes or the user’s authorization is terminated, all access to the Licensed Products must cease, and any Confidential Information derived from the Licensed Products must be properly secured or destroyed, following UCLA’s data management protocols. 5. No Additional Data Use Agreements (DUAs) For LARIAC data accessed through UCLA Dataverse, individual Data Use Agreements (DUAs) are not required. **UCLA Dataverse's Terms of Service obviates the need for separate DUAs**, as long as the access and usage of the data are aligned with the terms outlined here. 6. Compliance and Legal Use By accessing the LARIAC Licensed Products, Authorized Users agree to all terms outlined in this agreement. Any violation of these terms may result in revoked access and further action as deemed necessary by UCLA or the County of Los Angeles.
